The best archtop guitars were made in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Guild A 500, and A350 archtops were among the finest and had that great vintage tone that you just can’t find in new guitars today. This A500 has a beautifully flamed C shape comfortable neck that I can only describe as “rock Maple”with a nut width pf 1.70″ and 2.06″ at the 12th fret with string spacing at the bridge of 52.76” which is wider than mostly all Guild A500 archtops.

This may be the rarest D’Angelico every made by John and it has the serial number to match the year it was made – 1954 impressed onto the neck block which is clearly visible from the f holes. This was obviously done because the interior of this guitar is lined in green felt to decrease feed back. The acoustic tone is amazing, all the notes are clear with great bass and mellow highs with great clarity.
