Only 64 of the original M-80s were made between 1980 when it was introduced and 1984 when production ceased at the Arcata, California factory, which was destroyed by fire in 1988. Original 1980 MSRP was over $5000. These are incredible guitars. Double Venetian cutaway semi-hollow body with 2 f-holes Carved spruce top, KOA back & sides;Top and back hand carved out of 1 inch solid spruce and Solid KOA blocks; Heavily bracing under the top to anchor the stop tailpiece, and thickly carved back center, but completely hollow. If you put a light into one F hole, you will see the light in the opposite f hole. Bound body front and back w/ multi-ply Black/white binding. Heavy internal bracing partially carved from mahogany back with heavy bracing under top which stop tailpiece is anchored.
