Gibson Memphis 1959 VOS Reissue – Rare find!  These VOS guitars are excellent. Gibson has released a small number of faithful reissues , matched to original specs of the classic 1959 design.This one plays and sounds incredible. Looks and feels like a 50’s guitar. From the esteemed Memphis factory, this 2014 Gibson 1959 ES-175D reissue feels every bit as good as the genuine vintage articles and blooms with exemplary jazzbox tones. No detail went overlooked in recreating this guitar, from the tip of the headstock packed with Kluson tulip tuners to the very base of the zig-zag tailpiece. A pair of Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers nail the sound of original PAF pickups and perfectly transmit the open  warm, wide sound of this storied hollow body.  Designated ES-175 VOS (Vintage Original Spec), the model has aged nickel hardware throughout, including the pickup cover, wiggle tailpiece, Kluson Deluxe single ring tulip key tuners, wide bevel 5-ply guard, and gold bell knobs, all as used in the late 50’s.Natural finish in excellent ++ condition and wings on 6 Lbs 2 oz.   Neck specs: 24 3/4″ scale 1.69″ at nut 2.06″ 12th fret, and full 50’s style neck profile 0.8875″ depth at the 3rd fret, and 1.02″ at the 9th fret.  The 1959 ES-175D gets the “VOS” treatment to subtly age the guitar and give it the look of a well cared-for instrument from the golden era of Gibson. Comes with the original hard shell case.
