Designed & built by James DeCava, this custom-built Stratford Special is made to be a full-voiced, traditional-style, lightweight archtop guitar with a big, even acoustic tone.
Extremely light weight – this Decava 16” is only 4 lbs. 11 oz., 1.75″ at nut and 2.12″ at the 12th fret. In excellent cosmetic shape with the exception of some hazing on the front and back of the headstock. Everywhere else the finish is almost perfect. The Fret board was Playing and Refret due to a slight hum at the seventh and eighth threats, and now has extremely low action, on the first 12 frets with an increase in the action after the 12th fret. 2.5/64″ 12th fret, 3.5/64″ 15th fret, 7/64″ at the la st fret These two minor imperfections are the reason for the reduced price of $2999, This particular guitar was built with custom appointments including stained birdseye maple faceplate, a walnut backplate, pickguard, binding, & tailpiece veneer and has a new price tag of $8500 today.
