Excellent, vintage-style appointments synonymous with the legendary builds of John D’Angelico, the new offerings by D’Angelico Guitars of America are every bit as beautiful as their vintage predecessors.
This particular model, the EXL-1, boasts a 17 x 3″ body made of laminated spruce & maple with a maple neck & 22-fret ebony fretboard.
This 2005 model has a factory-repaired headstock damage at the top ornamental cutout. Other than that it is in excellent, like-new condition.
The D’Angelico full size hollow bodies were originated by the great and only John D’Angelico. Their design is unique and timeless. Instantly you know it is a D’Angelico. It cannot be mistaken for any other guitar with its stairstep tailpiece, and unique headstock design including the center finial.
These re-issues are made in the exact likeness of the originals which now sell for many tens of thousands of dollars and affordable only to the wealthy players. D’Angelico has built reissues at prices that today’s musician and amateur and professional guitarists can afford.
