All of our instruments are thoroughly inspected, tested, professionally set up, and carefully packed for shipment. And all instruments are sold with our 72 hour satisfaction guarantee.

We encourage you to call us for the best price possible. We routinely have demos, closeouts, blemishes, and used instruments available for purchase. And if you happen to find a lower price please let us know.

And please keep in mind that it’s difficult comparing various instruments on the Internet. Since many of our guitars come standard with upgraded woods and tone controls shopping by price alone won’t tell the whole story.

Since our inventory changes so frequently it’s best to call us to find all of your available options. With over 500 archtops in stock you can be assured that we have unbelievable guitars to fit any budget.

Product Description

This 1988 Yamaha AES1500 semi-hollow single-cutaway guitar is in excellent, all-original condition & comes setup & ready to play with the original hardshell case.

The 1988 Yamaha AES1500 is a high-quality, Made-in-Japan semi-hollow body guitar known for its versatility in jazz, blues, & rock. It features a sycamore top with maple back/sides, a 25.5″ scale length, and often includes DiMarzio Q-100 pickups with coil-splitting for P-90 to humbucker tones. These are highly regarded for their build quality, often compared to premium Gretsch or Gibson models.

Key Features & Specifications:
  • Body: Semi-hollow arched sycamore top with maple back and sides, usually with a center block.
  • Neck: Maple with a bound rosewood fingerboard.
  • Pickups: Dual DiMarzio Q-100 humbuckers, often with push-pull coil-splitters in the volume pots.
  • Scale Length: 25.5″ (Fender-style scale).
  • Hardware: Tune-o-matic bridge
  • Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz.

The AES1500 is often praised for its “semi-hollow” feel that bridges the gap between a traditional jazz box and a rock machine, providing a “woody” sound while maintaining sustain.
