The Sadowsky Jim Hall Guitar has an decreased  thickness of the top and back to provide a more acoustic response. He reduced the depth of the body to control feedback, designed a new ebony tailpiece with a string ground, and shaped the neck until it felt just right to Jim. This 2007 Sadowsky Jim Hall is the real deal and features a  nitrocellulose finish which was later discontinued on this model in favor of polyurethane.

Nothing will every be as good as John D’Angelico originals, or playing one of John’s D’Angelico´s masterpieces – the finest built Jazz guitars ever made. This may be the rarest D’Angelico every made by John and it has the serial number to match the year it was made – 1954 impressed onto the neck block which is clearly visible from the f holes. This was obviously done because the interior of this guitar is lined in green felt to decrease feed back. The acoustic tone is amazing, all the notes are clear with great bass and mellow highs with great clarity.

The Cremona was built a little smaller 16″ at the lower bout and a little thinner 2 1/2″ at the rims, and given a smaller headstock for perfect balance, making it more comfortable and lighter and more feedback resistant for the professional musician. With a carved solid top it imparts “Bell like tones” with great chordal note separation and feedback resistance not found in the larger model.
