No, it is not a tube amp, but it sounds great, is extremely loud, and at 32 pounds is considerably lighter than most tube amps. It is contained in the same cabinet as the JazzAmp-12-ER with the 160 watt power plant. However it contains an Eminence Legend 1258 speaker and a tweeter which will provide tons of punch and volume. It works extremely well with all sorts of pedals and digital sound shaping devices. Hooked up to a Telecaster you can break glass across the street with the extreme high frequency reproduction. It has a built in reverb, but you will have to supply your own distortion gadget and/or other sound altering device.
