Best Price Guarantee

Our goal at Guitars ‘n Jazz is to find you the best possible instrument that not only matches your personal requirements and play-style, but is also a guitar that you enjoy playing and look forward to picking up.

We strive to price our instruments as competitively as possible in order to give our customers the best possible value for their dollar. And as a guitarist myself I would never sell an instrument that didn’t live up to my own high standards and expectations.

All of our instruments are thoroughly inspected, tested, professionally set up, and carefully packed for shipment. And all instruments are sold with our 72 hour satisfaction guarantee.

We encourage you to call us for the best price possible. We routinely have demos, closeouts, blemishes, and used instruments available for purchase. And if you happen to find a lower price please let us know.

And please keep in mind that it’s difficult comparing various instruments on the Internet. Since many of our guitars come standard with upgraded woods and tone controls shopping by price alone won’t tell the whole story.

Since our inventory changes so frequently it’s best to call us to find all of your available options. With over 500 archtops in stock you can be assured that we have unbelievable guitars to fit any budget.

SKU: Guild Vintage A 500 Carved Archtop Guitar. Categories: , .

The best archtop guitars were made in the Golden Era -the 1950’s and 1960’s. Guild A 500, and A350 archtops were among the finest and had that great vintage tone that you just can’t find in new guitars today.

Product Description

Rare 1956 Guild A500 Jazz Guitar  #3321 built in the Hoboken Guild factory in 1956, full 3 3/8′ depth 17″ at the rims. Guilds lineup began with the A500, intoduced in 1956,  the first year of the A 500 model.  Shortly afterwards, this model became the prototype for the Guild  Johnny Smith, and the Artist Award which is based on the A 500, and also the prototype for the George Barnes Lectric Guitar, which evolved into e a combination of the A500 and the Artist Award with 2 set humbucker that never touched the top of the guitar. The A 500 has more acoustic tone than the Artist Award and is much lighter in weight. Great jazz guitar due to it’s clarity and chordal note separation, great acoustic tone and projection which  lends itself to swing tunes, and very chunky clean comping tones .  Very comfortable 1 11/16″ neck which widens out nicely to the 12th fret.  Refinished long ago in a traditional Gibson Sunburst finish. “G” shield inlaid headstock inlay , solid carved, perfectly graduated spruce top that gives that chunky highly sought tone, complimented w/a super figured maple back & sides, engraved Harp Tailpiece, w/cool Lollar Gold Foil floating pickup mounted on a Gibson style pickguard assembly, These are one of the finest acoustic archtops ever made and  virtually impossible to fine, it is excellent  condition, it comes with hard case of the same era.
