Product Description
2002 Gibson ES-446,Spruce Top, Serial # CS2-205. Gibson Custom Shop ES-446 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar with original case. This guitar is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. There are some light scratches, and that is it. Overall, I would rate the condition a solid 9.5 out of 10. I really enjoy the versatility of this guitar. It’s a little like a 335 in the sense that it will do heavy rock just as well as clean jazz, with the feel of a Pat Martino or Byrdland. This guitar has a one-piece mahogany carved-out body with carved spruce top (body braces are carved into top). Everything on the guitar is original. There are no cracks, repairs, or issues. The neck is straight with no issues. The original frets are in excellent condition with only minor wear. There is no buzzing or dead spots. The original case works great. Original certificate of authenticity.
Gibson is no longer producing these guitars, and are getting increasingly harder to find. Here is a great opportunity to get one in perfect playing condition, with a solid-spruce top. In short, this guitar is a World-Class electric concert and/or recording guitar and it would make a great guitar fo live gigs, as well as for studio work. It is versatile, very fun to play, and the wide range of sounds you can get out of it give the flexibility to play in a lot of different styles, including jazz, country, rockability, fusion, and rock, and especially blues. Solid carved Sitka spruce top and braces, solid Honduras mahogany body and neck; solid rosewood compound radius fingerboard with pearl inlays. With its fully hollow body and trapeze tailpiece, the 446 was both lighter and more acoustically sensitive than its Les Paul and es335 predecessors, yet more compact and feedback resistant than a traditional full-depth archtop. Produced in limited numbers for only four years, the ES-446S has been sought by discerning players ever since.
